PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), thermoplastic polymer developed
in 1941 by two British chemicals (Whinfield and Dickson), was at first utilized for textile fibers and packaging manufacture, but today it is essentially utilized for food and pharmaceutical containers.
Currently, PET allows to create beverage bottles, various packaging films, greenhouse sheets, fishing lines, car plates, fleece jackets, polyester textile fibers. The development of car components and lighting solutions are two expanding areas which are more and more recurring to PET as raw material.
